Devonshire Quarrendon is a very old early dessert variety. According to Bunyard in ‘A Handbook of Hardy Fruits’ this apple is mentioned by Worlidge in his ‘Vinetum Britannicum’ in 1678. It is also mentioned in ‘The complete Planter and Cyderist’ published in 1690. It was extensively cultivated in Devon and thrives in the West Country.

The juice is a slightly sharper medium. Very popular
